What is discrimination based on disability?

The Equality Act 2010 says that you must not be discriminated against because:

  • You have a disability
  • Someone thinks you have a disability (discrimination by perception)

Is Dyslexia covered under the Disability Discrimination Act?

Yes. In the Equality Act 2010, it prohibits discrimination against people with protected characteristics that are specialised in section 4 of the ACT. Disability is one of the specified protected characteristics.
